BRINK Karkloof Road Race 2026

BRINK Karkloof Road Race 2026
30 August

Burg Wheelers Cycling Club is proud to present the Karkloof Road Race with our new sponsor, Brink Towbars. The race takes place from La Petite France (better known as the Karkloof Farmer’s Market, 9 Karkloof Road) on Sunday 30th August. Hopefully the timing will be right to have warmed up a little coming out of winter and before the Spring rains start.

The event offers two race distances, both starting and finishing from La Petite France. The route makes use of the beautiful stretch of tar road between St Johns Village (just outside Howick) to the end of the tar road – one out and back loop comprising just under 40km. The 80km race does a double lap. The rolling terrain and beautiful scenery in the Karkloof Valley make it all the more worthwhile to enjoy seeing it twice.

La Petite France is a lovely venue being close to Howick and with plenty of parking on site. There is also good food and an enticing cheese selection for purchase at the venue, what Preston Farm is famous for. Clubs are encouraged to put up their gazebo’s and enjoy some social time after the event.

Start Times

Water Table
There will be a water table on the route – at the Karkloof Conservancy. The 40km riders will pass this point once (at about the 25km mark) and the 80km riders will pass it twice (at 25km & about 60km).The table will offer water and coke. There will also be a range of energy snacks for those who may be lacking some sustenance!

Services at La Petite France
Food and beverages will be available to purchase inside the shed. Each participants will receive a R20 voucher which may be used against a food / beverage purchase at La Petite France (on the event day only). You will need to hand the voucher in to obtain the discount! Toilets are available at the venue (on the left side of the shed). There are no shower facilities.
